Montserrat chocolatier has its roots in Anzegem, West Flanders. In 1986, Willy started the business, together with his sister Gilberte, in their parents’ garage. From day 1 he has been the driving force behind the craft business. In 1996 his wife Martine became involved.
They have been making artisan chocolate for more than 30 years now and they are still as keen today. Their keywords? Belief, passion and above all, plenty of enthusiasm. Willy and Martine are innovative, but want to retain the family and traditional character.

The trade journal Gondola annually presents the INN award for the most innovative products of the past year. Montserrat submitted its Wiloco chocolate: organic, lactose-free, vegan chocolate based on coconut blossom sugar. The INN Jury selected Wiloco as the winner, thus demonstrating its confidence in our product.
In 2014, Willy Desmet’s chocolate was selected as the winner in the professional category for 'the best chocolate' by the jury of the Chocolaterie Awards.
In 2013, Willy Desmet was awarded the Doend'rik of the municipality of Anzegem. This is a trophy which is awarded annually to entrepreneurs who are making a name for themselves. The municipality would like to reward and encourage them with this recognition.
